Lincoln Aviator: Gas or Hybrid?

Today, the automotive industry is dedicated to designing vehicles that blend efficiency with power. Lincoln achieves this goal with SUVs like the Lincoln Aviator. How did they do so? Well, this luxury SUV comes with two engine configurations: a gas engine and a hybrid engine.

The standard 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6-with either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD)-generates 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. With its 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission and paddle activation, the Lincoln Aviator provides a steady and controlled ride, whether commuting to work or embarking on a road trip.

Alternatively, you can choose the available 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 with a nano electric motor. This hybrid powertrain is mated to a specialized 10-speed SelectShift® Automatic Modular Hybrid transmission, which helps it achieve 494 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque.

With this hybrid engine, your Lincoln Aviator gets an EPA-estimated:

  • 54 city MPGe*
  • 58 highway MPGe*
  • 56 combined MPGe*

Plus, with a maximum towing capacity of 5,600 pounds when properly equipped, the vehicle can also haul heavy loads for you around town!

Lincoln Aviator Driver-Assisting Features

The Lincoln Aviator is a safe and fun vehicle! It has plenty of tech that keeps an eye on the road to help keep you and other drivers safe. Many of these features are part of the Lincoln Co-Pilot360™ 1.5 safety suite.

A standard feature in the Lincoln Aviator is the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking system with Forward Collision Warning, Pedestrian Detection, and Dynamic Brake Support. Using radar, this system keeps an eye on the road ahead and warns you of a potential accident with people or other vehicles. It can even apply the brakes if needed.

The Rear View Camera with Washer helps you see clearly behind your Lincoln Aviator, and the washer even keeps the camera clear of debris. Use this to spot obstacles while pulling out of a parking spot or driveway.

The Blind Spot Information System keeps an eye on your blind spots while you're changing lanes. Add on the Cross-Traffic Alert with Braking, and the system can warn you of traffic approaching from the left or right while you're pulling out of your driveway.

Some available features you can add to the Lincoln Aviator include:

  • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Evasive Steering Assist
  • Reverse Brake Assist

Trim Levels for the Lincoln Aviator

The Lincoln Aviator is bold, spacious, and powerful, but is it versatile enough for you? The answer is yes, it is! It comes with several trim levels, starting off with the Lincoln Aviator Standard model that comes packed with unique amenities.

From there, you can climb the ladder up toward the Lincoln Aviator Reserve and the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring.

The Standard trim level comes with plenty of luxuries, even as the base trim. With this trim, you get the standard 3.6L V6 engine, RWD, and Lincoln Drive Modes to help customize your commute.

You'll find Lincoln Soft Touch seats and comfort front seats with 10-way power adjustability and driver-side memory. You can always return to that perfect driving position, no matter who else drives your Lincoln Aviator.

The mid-tier Reserve trim adds to the luxuries already established inside the Standard trim. The seats are upgraded to premium leather, and the front seats end up with 12-way power adjustability.

In terms of technology, the Lincoln Aviator Reserve adds voice-activated navigation to the SYNC® 3 infotainment system, as well as SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link®, so you know current traffic levels.

The highest trim level is the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring trim. It comes standard with the 3.6L V6 hybrid engine and AWD. That is the largest difference between this trim and the Reserve trim.

Like the Reserve trim, you can also enjoy available Perfect Position Front Seats with 30-way power adjustability and Active Motion® massage capability.

Other available interior features include:

  • Heated and ventilated first- and second-row seats
  • Panoramic roof sunshade controls
  • All-weather floor liners
