Lincoln Aviator Engine Options
The Lincoln Aviator has some flexibility in terms of engine. You get two engine options: Hybrid and gas.
The standard engine in the Lincoln Aviator is a Twin-Turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine. This motor is pretty impressive with a robust 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is found on trims like Aviator and Aviator Reserve.
The Lincoln Aviator hybrid engine option is only available on the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring trim though. This hybrid option is a Twin-Turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine paired to a Nano electric motor. This motor provides even more horsepower and torque with a whopping 494 horsepower and incredible 630 lb-ft of torque!
Lincoln Aviator Fuel Economy
While both engines give you plenty of power, you don't need to sacrifice fuel economy. No matter which engine you choose, you'll spend more time on the road and less time worrying about looking for a gas station.
The standard 3.0L V6 engine has auto start-stop technology to help you save on fuel. This system turns off your engine when you're stopped at a stoplight, and your engine will turn back on again; when your foot releases the brake pedal, your engine will turn back on.
With this technology and standard front-wheel drive, the 3.0L V6 engine will get and EPA-estimated 18 city/26 highway MPG. *
The hybrid engine option of the Lincoln Aviator is a plug-in hybrid. This means you charge your Lincoln Aviator at home or at charging stations while you're out and about. You can also use the gas engine when charging isn't an option. This allows for a combination of gas and hybrid power, or pure electric power when you need it.
The hybrid engine gets with standard all-wheel drive and EPA-estimated 54 city/58 highway MPGe for even more miles of refined travel. *
Drivetrain and Transmissions
Both engine options for the Lincoln Aviator are paired with 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission with paddle activation. The main difference between the two transmissions is the hybrid option also has a hybrid transmission.
The hybrid engine also comes standard with all-wheel drive, which improves traction on slippery and challenging terrain. The standard 3.0L V6 engine begins with front-wheel drive but gives drivers the option to opt for all-wheel drive.
The Lincoln Aviator also offers multiple drive modes so you can customize your driving experience with both engine types. The hybrid engine also provides two additional drive modes which are:
- EV mode
- Preserve EV mode
